I already filed my taxes and just found out that the money I took out of my 401k I paid federal income tax but they did not take any tax out for colorado tax

When that happens and you owe a balance due, you can pay it when you file your taxes. You have not lost anything, you are just paying now as opposed to getting it deducted from your distribution.

 

If you owe state taxes, you'll need to make your payment directly to the state's tax authority.

You can also mail a check to your state's tax authority, or you may be able to pay online through your state's website
