Question

I am filling out my 1098-T part. And the question is asking me, "Did you receive any of the following tax-free benefits last year?" I used Ch. 35 which is a VA benefit.

The two questions are, "Yes, I received this help to pay for school". and the second question is, "No, I didn't receive any of this help to pay for school".

You should answer Yes, I received this help to pay for school. The Chapter 35 assistance reduces your out-of-pocket tuition.
