Question

I am getting an error that boxes 15 and 17 are incorrect on W-2 form-they are both blank w $0 deduction. Do I need to just quit this?

    If you have an amount in Box 16 (State Wages), but Box 17 is blank on your W-2, put a $0 in Box 17.  This shows that you had State Wages, but didn't have any State Tax withheld.

     

    Box 15 should have a two-letter state code (NC) and the Employer State ID.  If the ID number is blank, you can use the Federal ID number.
