I have an inheritated IRA that I get yearly required minimum distributions from. This is the first year I am having an issue filing because under review it keeps coming up as "check here if between 2018-2020 you took a disaster related payment." I am not in a disaster area, and have not been in a disaster area, have not taken disaster payments ever. How can I make sure that this stays unchecked as I don't want to have any issues when filing.

That question will not appear on your tax return, it is asked to determine the taxable amount of your IRA distribution. You can look on line 4b of your form 1040 to insure that the correct amount of your distribution is being shown as taxable on your tax return.

You can see your form 1040 while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:

  1. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu bar
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Look under Other Helpful links….
  4. Choose View Tax Summary
  5. Look in the left menu bar and choose Preview my 1040
