I became a teacher half way through last year in Mass and I no longer pay social security , how does this affect me ?

It will not effect your Federal Income Taxes.  Social Security is not  assessed on your Federal Income Tax return.  Really, all it means is Massachusetts is covering their civil employees portion of social security retirement  under a state pension plan.
