Question

I contributed $6800 to my traditional IRA in '24. My IRA issuer says the 5498 is no longer filed. Where can I attach an account statement with my yearly contributions?

Do I need to attach or provide any document proving contributions?

You do not need to attach or provide any extra documentation to prove that you made a contribution to your Traditional IRA.  The financial institution that is the custodian over your account will report the contribution to the IRS and you will receive a copy of Form 5498 later in the year for your records.

You need to report the contribution on your tax return by going through the Deductions and Credits > Retirement and Investments > Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions section of your return.

See the following TurboTax help article for more details:

Where do I enter my traditional or Roth IRA contributions?
