I contributed to a pretax Dependent Care FSA. Should the amount from W2 box 10 be added to my taxable income on 1040 line 1e?

If you do not offset the amount in box 10 of your W2 by entering qualified Dependent Care expenses this money will become taxable.

Check to be sure you entered Dependent Care Expenses.

Hi @CatinaT1
Do you know how I can enter "Dependent Care Expenses"? I don't have see that option on the mac desktop software, unless I or myself is marked as student or disabled.

Did you not enter a dependent in the MY INFO tab ?   If you don't claim the dependent then you cannot use the form 2441 at all and all of the FSA will be added to your income.

I had a problem with the Dependent Care section when I started it before I entered both W-2s. It kept asking me if I was disabled or a full time student and wouldn't ask me for my daycare expenses, which didn't make sense. I realized I had to make sure both me and my spouse's W-2 were added, had to go delete the Dependent Care Section (Form 2441) which I had previously started, and re-went through that section. It then asked me for daycare expenses and corrected itself. See if that's the problem if you both worked and had eligible expenses?
