Question

I did not take the RMD from my IRA last year because it was waived by the pandemic. I have not received 1099, how do I report on tax return?

I am over the age that requires that I take the RMD.

Yes, RMDs were waived for 2020. The CARES Act provisions apply to most retirement plans, including traditional IRAs, SEP IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs, 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, 457(b) plans, profit sharing plans and other defined contribution plans. The RMD suspension does not apply to qualified defined benefit plans.

You do not need to report anything if you did not take your RMD. When TurboTax asks if you took a RMD select you were not required to take a RMD/did not take a RMD.
