Question

I did not withdraw my wife's RMD. I believe I should file Form 5329 but I cannot find it in TurboTax.

How do I find Form 5329 in TurboTax?

    TurboTax will automatically generate form 5329, if it determines tax is owed on a failure to withdrawal the Required Minimum Distributions (RMD).  You can verify if the form has been completed by following these steps:

     

    1. Sign in to TurboTax
    2. Select Tax Tools
    3. Select Tools
    4. Select View Tax Summary
    5. Select preview 1040

    If the form is not there, then follow up in the interview questions of her 1099-R and make sure to answer that the RMD was not met.
