Question

I do not have any kind of IRA. Why is turbo tax asking for an the information from the excess contribution form line 26?

Did you have an excess Roth IRA contribution in a prior year that wasn't removed? If not then please follow these steps to remove the entry:

 

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  2. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  3. Select “Roth IRA”
  4. On the "Enter Excess Contributions" screen delete the entry.

You might want to check your previous tax returns if you show a penalty on Schedule 2, line 8.
