Need help to file my taxes without my wife’s social security number

    To file your taxes without your wife's Social Security Number (SSN), follow these steps:

    1. File by Mail: You cannot e-file without your spouse's SSN. You will need to file a paper return by mail.
    2. Include a Cover Letter: Attach a cover letter to your tax return explaining why your spouse's SSN is missing.

    1. Prepare Your Return: Complete your tax return in TurboTax as usual.
    2. Print Your Return: Ignore any SSN error messages and print your return.
    3. Mail Your Return: Include the cover letter.
