Question

I filed early. I also had unemployment benefits, so I'm expecting a refund for that in May. Should I also expect an additional stimulus check because that lowers my AGI?

My 2020 AGI is right around the cut-off for the stimulus (I'm Head of Household), and my unemployment was about $5,000. Had I waited to file, I would have received a bigger stimulus.

The advance of the third stimulus check was based on the 2019 or 2020 return they had on file at the time of the release ... if you did not get the full amount in advance then you may be eligible for the credit on the 2021 return you file next year if your income still qualifies you for it. Don't expect to get more of the third stimulus payment in advance ... it could happen however it is not likely.
