I get a 1099 Misc from my retirement legal service plan because this is free to me so I have to add as income

on turbo tax it is coming up as a placed I worked but I didn’t work there it is a benefit

Follow the steps below to report it as "other income" instead of as business income.

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Search for 1099-misc.
  3. Select the Jump to 1099-misc
  4. Select Yes to Did you get a 1099-MISC?
  5. Enter the information from your 1099-MISC.
  6. On the screen, Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC, enter a reason then Continue.
  7. On the screen,  Does one of these uncommon situations apply? select None of these apply then Continue.
  8. On the screen, Did the XXX involve work that’s like your main job? select No, it didn’t involve work like my main job then Continue.
  9. On the screen, How often did you get income from XXX? select I got it in 2022 then Continue.
  10. On the screen,  Did the XXX involve an intent to earn money? select No, it didn’t involve an intent to earn money then Continue.
