I got a 1099-G form from Paid Family & Medical Leave. Do I have to pay taxes on it?

Yes, you have to pay federal taxes on it.  However, you are not subject to Social Security and Medicare taxes, or federal unemployment tax.

Paid Family Leave (PFL) income is money you receive from your employer, an insurer, or the government while you are away from work for an extended period of time so you can recover from a serious health issue, take care of a seriously ill family member, or bond with your newborn or newly adopted child.  This amount will show on line 9 of your Form 1040 carried over from Schedule 1.
