Question

I had NO withdrawals from my pension but it keeps asking me for a State tax amount in box 14a...all the other boxes are 0.00?

    If there were no state taxes withheld then leave boxes 14, 15 and 16 blank (empty) on the Form 1099-R.

     

    If this does not correct the problem then delete the Form 1099-R and re-enter manually.

    If you had no withdrawals why did you get a 1099R?  What code is in box 7?  Box 14 is for state withholding.  If 14 is blank or 0 then leave all boxes 14, 15 & 16 Blank, not zero.
