Question

I have a 1099-R from a 401K roll over, in has BG in block 7 (Distribution Code) which is not an option for selection on turbo tax. What do i need to put?

B and G are separate codes. Code B means a distribution from a designated Roth account in a qualified retirement plan and code G (when used with code B) means that the distribution from that account was directly rolled over to a designated Roth account in a different qualified retirement plan (but not to a Roth IRA, there is different code for that).

TurboTax has two box 7 drop-down boxes. Select code B in one and code G in the other.
