Question

I issued 5 1099's to individuals who i paid during 2021. where do I enter that deduction in turbo tax. last year's program made it very easy.

You will find that entry in the Self-Employment Income and Expenses section.   In the expense section, there is a category called Contract Labor.   You can total all of those together and enter them on that line item.    In TurboTax Online, you will be shown a list of common and uncommon expenses and you have to keep clicking on Show More (under uncommon expenses) before Contract Labor will show up.
