I just filed my fed 1040- but think I forgot $11,000 Soc Security on it-- IRS says "We have it- but its pending"- Is it too late for me to reopen my 1040 +add my Soc Sec?

I think its too late to get my just-filed, about 30 min ago, 1040 back, reopen it, and report that $11,000 in Soc Sec., that is somehow not reported on it--- no?

You would have to amend your return but first see if it changes your tax liability. If it does, wait until your return has been processed and any tax refund or tax liability paid has been settled before you amend the return.

IRS computers will add your $11,000 to your filed tax return , they're good at that.

IRS will send you a bill if you owe anything more.
