Solved

I live in WA and work in OR. I received a retirement settlement from the company I work for. Do I have to claim the settlement on my state taxes?

No, because you are a resident of WA and you only have to recognize pension related income in the state of which you are a resident.  You will not need to include this income on your OR nonresident state income tax return.

On Jan. 10, 1996, P.L. 104-95 took effect. This federal law prohibits any state from taxing pension income of non-residents, even if the pension was earned within the state.
