Question

I’m being asked to have my tax liability amount from 2018’s 740np form. But I don’t understand this isn’t something I’m familiar with. I don’t remember getting that form.

It might help if you print out last year's return so you can view all the forms you filed. Here's the original article on how to print it, or you can read below:

Before starting, make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (with the same username) as previous years.

You'll get access to your prior year returns through Your tax returns & documents in Tax Home.

If you don't already have access and you’re planning on filing with TurboTax this year, you can register or pay first and then go back to work on your taxes later.

To access:

  1. If you haven't chosen yet, pick the product that is right for you (if you aren’t sure, select TurboTax Free Edition) when starting.
  2. Follow the screens and provide some personal info.
  3. When you've reached the Personal info summary screen, select Continue.
  4. Select File in the left menu (this is just a step in order to register or pay, you won’t actually be filing).
  5. Continue until you get to Review your order and select Start.
  6. Select View payment options.
  7. Register or pay for TurboTax, depending on which version you're using.
  8. Go to Tax Home in the left menu.
  9. Under Your tax returns & documents, go to Download/print return (PDF) (select Show if not visible).
