Form 1040-SR will automatically be used if you are age 65 or older.

However, the Form 1040-SR and Form 1040 are exactly the same with the SR form only having a larger typeface.  Social Security disability payments reported to you on a SSA-1099 can be entered on either form.

 

Enter ssa-1099 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ssa-1099

1040-SR is your actual tax return.  Just enter your data into the TT program, and the system will generate the form when you are done.  Enter your SSDI Form SSA-1099 here:

Federal > Wages and Income > Retirement > Social Security
