turbotax says I have to look on my 1040 to find my agi, but I need a MAGI to calculate my maximum deductible roth contribution for the year before I make the contribution, and then report the contribution when I file, so how do i get an accurate estimation of MAGI before I file?

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.  Click on Tools.  Click on View Tax Summary.  The 2018 AGI will be listed

You can find the AGI but not the MAGI since it is only viewable on the "Roth IRA Contributions Limit Worksheet" only after a contribution has been entered.

The easiest way, is after entering all of your income, go to the IRA contribution section and enter the Roth contribution.  If your MAGI is too high TurboTax will tell you the exact amount that it is over by.  You can always return to the interview and remove or change any contribution entered.
