Where do I enter information for a contribution to a non profit organization

Yes, you can deduct your out of pocket donations to an IRS qualified charity..

See IRS Qualified Charity List

To enter your charitable donations:

  • Type in charitable contributions in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass

  • Click the jump to charitable contributions link in the search results.

  • Follow the onscreen instructions to enter

Unless you have enough itemized deductions (ie. Medical mortgage interest, property taxes, charitable giving, ect) to exceed your Standard Deduction, you will not benefit from this expense.

You will need to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe to itemize your deductions.
