Question

I paid my 14 YO $2,744 for the 2022 tax year. I provided the 199-NECI made $2,300 to her Roth IRA. Does my 14 YO have to file her own 2022 tax return as my dependent?

I claim her as my dependent on my return. Does she have to file as Self Employ in order to use the money I paid her to make contribution to her own ROth IRA?

Since she received over $400 of self-employment income she is required to file a tax return reporting the income and any expenses from self-employment on Schedule C.  Make sure that she indicates on her tax return that she can be claimed as a dependent.  She can also enter the nondeductible contribution she made to the Roth IRA on her return.
