Question

I put my taxpayer ID where my social security number goes and then how come it tells me that it is an invalid social security number when I put in my tax ID?

A tax identification number associated with a business is different from a social security number. They happen to have the same number of digits, but they are not necessarily interchangeable.

I suspect what is happening is that your social security number is on your return as it identifies you as the tax filer, so you cannot also enter it as a business tax ID number, as they may not be the same.
