I received a total distribution from my now ex husband's 401k as a qdro. Is that taxed early distribution extra being I am under 59 1/2

No, you won't be subject to an early distribution tax for a QDRO retirement distribution. An alternate payee under a Qualified Domestic Relations Order is not subject to the 10% additional early distribution tax in the following circumstances.  Refer to the IRS website Retirement topics - Exceptions to tax on early distributions for more information.
