I received an email about making a payment for deferred Social Security taxes and to check my notification "bell" on the Turbo Tax site - but I can't find it. ??

I used to file a paper return so was learning the ropes and may have missed something, but this is the first I have heard about this payment I need to make. How do I access my notifications for more information?

Yes it was a new thing for 2020. You could defer half the self employment tax.

The self employment tax deferral was an optional benefit. It is also a deferral rather than forgiveness, so those amounts will eventually need to be repaid. Half of the deferred amount is due on December 31, 2021, and the other half is due on December 31, 2022.

Check if you have a Schedule 3 line 12e which goes to 1040 line 31.
