Question

I received Social Security payments for my dependent who was eligible. They payments were in his name and due to him being under 18,I was the custodian. Do I enter them?

As he turned 18 in the 2nd half of the tax year and is still in High School, does he also have to file?

You do not put your child's Social Security on your own tax return.   If your son has any OTHER income to enter on a tax return, then he needs to include the SSA1099 on his own return.   If the Social Security is his only income he does not need to file a tax return.
