I reteired in 2017 why is the question being asked for me to provide my Government Pension Income?

I did not need to put this in my previous taxes after the initial year I retired?

What income are you entering? If you are filing a tax return then ALL of your income must be entered including pension income. You should have a 1099R for the pension.

To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
