Question

I retired from active duty in 2016 but my status says "active duty all year". How do I edit this?

I retired on 1 Oct, I selected the "left the military" option, but my info still says active duty all year.  Does this matter?  If it does, how do I change it?

No, it does not matter.  There is no tax impact from that question and you would still qualify for any military discounts (depending on your rank) due to your DFAS W2.
