I submitted my W2 for a tax return without considering a 1099 form later mailed to me. This 1099 has about $3000 of unreported income, will this affect my current return/do I need to resubmit anythin

Until the IRS accepts or rejects the return you have just filed there is nothing you can do. Do not make any changes to your return at this time.

If the return is rejected, then follow the instructions to make changes to the return and refile it.

However if the return is accepted for processing then you must wait until the original return has fully processed and you have the original refund in hand. Only at that time can you amend the return. Again do not start any amendment process until you're original return has fully processed.
