Question

I think I checked taking a lump sum retirement money but I didn’t. Could I go back to that and change it?

Yes, you can go back and change that. 

 

To do so all you need to do is click on Wages and Income, then click edit next to your 1099-R on the summary screen.  Walk through the steps until you get back to that question and then select that you did not get a lump sum payment.
