Question

I took an early withdrawal from a 401k versus rolling over to my current 401k. The distribution was in Feb. 2025. Would I file on 2024 return or 2025?

Gross distribution was ~900. I have not received a 1099-R but want to ensure that I should not be filing that distribution on 2024 return.

    Since the withdrawal was made in 2025 you report the distribution on the 2025 tax return that you will file next year.
