I took money from my retirement account and I need to pay the 10% penalty. Is that included in the money I owe to the federal government or is that in addition to? Thanks

The penalty is calculated by TurboTax when you enter the 1099-R and answer the followup questions. It is included on your tax return in the amount you owe. It is shown on line 59 of Schedule 4 and on line 14 of from 1040.
