Question

I took the required $87M RMD the Turbo Tax system thinks I took out $174M how to I correct this error?

I took the required $87M RMD  the turbo Tax system thinks I took out $174M.  How do I correct this error.     thank You

    The number being reported is twice as as the amount it should be, so please look for a double entry. 

    Look at the retirement income section to see if the 1099-R was entered twice, delete the extra one. 

     

    You can dig through your return or look at your form to find the second entry. Only report your Required Minimum Distribution AFTER you enter the 1099-R and only as part of the distribution.
