Question

I transferred more than $7,000 from an employer Roth to a Roth IRA, and then withdrew from the Roth IRA less than $7,000. Did I have excess Roth IRA contributions?

It seems like my rollover from my employer Roth to the Roth IRA exceeded the $7,000 limit. Not sure if this counts as a contribution though or just a rollover.

    No, you do not have an excess contribution- rollovers from another retirement account generally do not count as a contribution.
