I've requested for an Roth recharacterization to traditional IRA on 11th April. I was told that it'll be done in 3 days and on 18th April as fidelity advisor inform me that I can go ahead with filing as I've put in a request within time.  and I filed my extension. but today I figured out that the rechar didn't happen on 18th and on 19th when I called them they informed me that it'll be done my eod 19th. not sure what the status I'm in now.

You will need to verify that their paperwork is showing that it is for 2021 before you file your return. As long as their paperwork shows 2021, you are fine. Some companies will switch it if past the deadline while others will honor a timely made request.

As long as you requested the filing extension by April 18, 2022, the deadline to obtain the recharacterization is extended to October 18.  If by April 18, 2022 you had not either filed your 2021 tax return or requested a filing extension, the deadline to obtain the recharacterization would have been April 18, 2022.
