click on Federal Taxes, Wages & Income, scroll down to Retirement Plans, click on 1099r button.

You will enter this as a regular 1099-R in your federal return. When you prepare your New Jersey return, the information will transfer into the program and will recognize this as a pension annuity. This will then exclude your pension income from your New Jersey return.

  1. Log into turbo tax
  2. Go to federal>income and expenses
  3. Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
  4. Ira (401K), pension plan Withdrawals(1099R) Start
  5. You will then record the information and answer any questions pertaining to it. Make sure you indicate this is a qualified plan when the program asks you this question.
