Question

I withdrew Life Insurance and entered data on 1099-R. I mistakenly entered wrong state (West Virginia) in Box 15. How do I delete West Virginia?

I live in Washington (WA), which was not an option.

    Edit the 1099-R form again. 

     

    Then when you get to the state distribution area for boxes 14-to-16.......delete everything there, and leave them all blank.  (WA does not have an income tax, so no entry on that line is needed).
