Question

If I did not take any RMD's from my investments as allowed by the Cares Act and did not receive a 1099-R from my Financial Institution, how do I get passed that section?

The RMDs have been waived for tax year 2020.

Please read this IRS document for more information.

If you do not have any form 1099-R, there is nothing to report in TurboTax about the RMD. There is no penalty.

The TurboTax answer is that I do not have to report anything for an RMD, but, when I run the scan check at the end, I get an error message to fix my RMD reporting. How do I eliminate, or get past, that response and issue?

If you have a 1099R that transferred over from last year you need to delete it.
