If I was unemployed but received a lump sum pension pay out, can I come a tax return based on the taxes I paid?

Unfortunately, we can't see your tax return to to evaluate your problem.   I'll have to ask you a couple of questions.

 

I'm not sure what you want to do.

I understand you were unemployed, and you got a lump sum pension payment.

  • Did you get a 1099-R for the limp sum?
  • Did you have taxes withheld?
  • Are you older than 59 1/2?
  • What type oy tax return are you asking about?
