Question

If my 1099-R Box 16 is blank but Turbo Tax says it can't be. What do I need to do?

Can I override Turbo Tax's requirement?

    Try putting the amount shown in box 1 of your Form 1099-R into box 16.  This should resolve the error condition without affecting your actual tax returns.
