If on Form 1099-B my cost basis in box 1e is N/A How do I report this?

You enter the actual basis from your own records. If you don't know the basis, you can enter zero. That will make you pay tax on the entire proceeds of the sale, instead of on just your profit (gain).


It's possible that the brokerage has a record of the basis, even though they didn't put it on the 1099-B. You could ask them.
