Is a Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA tax deductible?

I have made a Qualified Charitable Distribution from my IRA in 2024 to a 501(c)(3) charity. I know that the distribution isn't taxable. However, I wonder if I can also count this donation as a deduction on my 2024 tax return?

No.  It is already not taxed as income.  You can not deduct it again.  Actually it’s better to have it deducted from your IRA distribution (above the line) instead of taking a Schedule A deduction for it.

No. When you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to a charity, you are able to exclude the distribution from your income.  Therefore, you cannot also take a charitable contribution deduction for it, since it was not included in your income to begin with.
