Is a trust required to take a RMD from an inherited IRA? Husband is trustee Deceased wife would have been in late 80s. Husband 90yo.

Yes, the trust is required to take RMDs and will be based on the wife's life expectancy.

Note that, depending on the circumstances, it may be possible for the IRA to be transferred out of the trust an rolled over to an IRA owned by the surviving spouse:
