It could be either.

 

Checking the website for Acorns.com, there are options for a simple investment account or an IRA account.  The IRA account is called Acorns Later.  

 

If you are not sure which type of account you have, I would recommend contacting Acorns Support for further assistance.

 

If you find out that you did contribute to an Acorns IRA account, you would need to enter the amount of your contribution and the type of IRA you contributed to into your tax return.
