Is pension income included in when calculating the amount of SS that is taxed? On Turbo Tax it is.

    Yes.  Pension income is part of the income that is included when calculating the amount of SS that is taxed. This is because your AGI is used as part of the calculation and your pension is part of your AGI. 

     

    Your combined income is calculated by adding your

    • AGI plus
    • Nontaxable Interest plus
    • 1/2 of your social security Benefits
