I suspected the Federal due $ number in my turbotax portal is inaccurate. Since I believe it only factors in the federal withheld at the moment, while I paid for social, medicare, and state income taxes already from every paycheck. Please advise or comment on what might've happened and the next steps.

Look at your Form 1040 on line 37.  That is what you owe to the IRS.  And all of the tax, FICA, etc etc etc has already been factored in to that amount assuming you entered all of your W-2's completely and correctly.

If you owe tax due, you have to pay it yourself by the filing deadline on April 15, 2025.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment.  For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.

    • Social Security and Medicare is for your old age or disability with the Social Security Administration and is only factored in if you overpaid or underpaid. The program will handle that for you.
    • State tax paid is reported with your state return to determine if you owe money or have a refund - it can be used on the federal if you itemize deductions. The program handles this for you.
    • Federal tax paid is reported on your 1040 line 25. If your wages/ income is correctly reported along with federal tax paid and you did not have enough withheld by your employer, then you would owe the IRS money.

You may want to change your w4 at work to take out more money.
