Is the Social security income used to pay medicare taxable income
I don't have a ssa 1099 but have requested it. We file jointly. My wife's benefit goes entirely to pay her medicare. Is that amount considered taxable income?

Social Security can be taxable when combined with other income. When you enter a SSA1099, the amount that was paid for Medicare flows over to the medical expense section of your return. As for whether your medical expenses are deductible, that depends on whether you meet the overall tough threshold for claiming medical expenses.
If you look on line 5a and 5b of your Form 1040 you can see if any of the SS was taxed.
