It didn’t seem to deduct any of my social security that’s added to my income before deductions to be taxable

Your social security income should be reduced by the amount that is not taxable. You can look on line 6a and 6b of form 1040 to see your gross benefit and the amount that is showing as taxable.

To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:

    1. Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online
    2. Choose Tools
    3. Choose View Tax Summary
    4. See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it
    5. Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

You enter your SSA1099 exactly as it appears.  The software does the calculations to determine if any of the SS was taxable.  You will see it on lines 6a and 6b of your Form 1040.

Are you asking about the Social Security that’s on your W2 box 3&4?  Or about Social Security payments you get each month on a SSA-1099?

Social Security is on 1040 line 6a and any taxable amount on 6b.

Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:

    Married Filing Jointly: $32,000

Single or head of household: $25,000

    Married Filing Separately: 0

To see the Social Security Benefits Calculation Worksheet  in Turbo Tax Online version you would have to save your return with all the worksheets to your computer.   Or if you are using the Desktop CD/Download Software you can switch to Forms Mode (click Forms in the upper right) and click on SS in the list on the left side.

Before filing,  You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return
